Resin-cast transformers use epoxy resin as the primary insulation material, forming a solid structure through casting and curing. This structure has high mechanical strength and excellent insulation properties. Additionally, these transformers have good heat dissipation and are suitable for harsh environments, making them ideal for applications in subways, hospitals, airports, and other places where reliability is crucial. Currently, there are two insulation material systems for resin-cast transformers: "pure resin casting with high-fill glass fiber reinforcement" and "resin quartz powder casting with locally reinforced pre-impregnated glass mesh."

Pure Resin Casting with High-Fill Glass Fiber Reinforcement

This system uses pure epoxy resin for casting, with the addition of high-fill glass fiber reinforcement. On one hand, pure resin provides excellent electrical insulation performance. On the other hand, the high-fill glass fiber enhances the mechanical strength and thermal resistance of the insulator. The combination of these materials significantly improves the overall short-circuit resistance and durability. This system is generally suitable for environments with high requirements for mechanical strength and electrical performance, such as industrial plants and subways.

Resin Quartz Powder Casting with Locally Reinforced Pre-Impregnated Glass Mesh

In this system, quartz powder is mixed into the resin to enhance the hardness and wear resistance of the insulator, while key areas are locally reinforced with pre-impregnated glass mesh. The quartz powder improves the wear and corrosion resistance of the insulator, and the pre-impregnated glass mesh increases mechanical strength and tensile capacity in critical areas. This system is suitable for transformers operating in highly polluted or corrosive environments, such as coastal regions or chemical plants.
