The safe operation and service life of dry-type transformers largely depend on the safety and reliability of the winding insulation. Exceeding the insulation withstand temperature due to winding temperature can lead to insulation damage, which is one of the main reasons why transformers cannot function properly. Therefore, monitoring and alarm control of the operating temperature of transformers are crucial.
Automatic Fan Control: Temperature signals are obtained by Pt100 thermal resistance buried in the hottest part of the low-voltage winding. As the load on the transformer increases and the operating temperature rises, the fan cooling system is automatically activated when the winding temperature reaches 110°C; when the winding temperature drops to 90°C, the system automatically stops the fan.
Overtemperature Alarm and Trip: Temperature signals from PTC nonlinear thermal resistance embedded in the low-voltage winding are collected to monitor the winding or core temperature. If the winding temperature continues to rise and reaches 155°C, the system outputs an overtemperature alarm signal. If the temperature continues to rise to 170°C, the transformer can no longer operate, and an overtemperature trip signal must be sent to the secondary protection circuit, causing the transformer to trip quickly.
Temperature Display System: Temperature changes are measured by Pt100 thermal resistance embedded in the low-voltage winding, directly displaying the temperature of each phase winding (with three-phase inspection and maximum value display, and recording of the highest historical temperature). The highest temperature can be output as a 4~20mA analog signal, which can be transmitted to a remote computer (up to 1200m away) if necessary.
