This is done by connecting the resistor to the ground and the power supply to the active circuit. The resistor ensures that the active component is biased properly and does not draw too much current from the power supply.

Finally, resistors can also be used for noise reduction in a circuit. This is done by connecting a large value resistor across the signal path, which is called a “snubber circuit”. This resistor reduces the voltage peaks and absorbs any noise that might be present in the signal path.
