For single-phase transformers:

Single-phase, two-winding: The transformer has two windings, referred to as the high-voltage winding and low-voltage winding, used for input and output current transformation.

For three-phase transformers:

Three-phase, three-winding: The transformer comprises three windings, typically known as the high-voltage winding, medium-voltage winding, and low-voltage winding. This output configuration is suitable for applications requiring multiple voltage transformations.

Auto-transformer: Also known as an autotransformer or self-coupling transformer, this is a special type of three-phase transformer with only one shared winding. It is utilized for specific applications.
