For example, an IP67-rated device is dust-tight and can withstand being immersed in up to 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes. On the other hand, an IP68-rated device is dust-tight and can withstand being submerged in water for extended periods of time, depending on the manufacturer's specifications.

It's important to note that IP ratings do not take into account other environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, and chemical exposure. Therefore, it's crucial to select the appropriate enclosure for the intended application to ensure the device's longevity and reliability.
