What should be considered when lifting the transformer oil tank?
For transformers with flat covers, when conducting maintenance on the body, it is essential to use lifting equipment with a capacity greater than the weight of the body to hoist it for inspection. To facilitate user maintenance without large lifting equipment, for bodies weighing 15 to 25 tons, the oil tank is usually designed as a bell jar tank. Even in large transformers, the upper oil tank typically weighs around 15 tons. When maintaining transformers with bell jar tanks, only the upper oil tank needs to be lifted. It is crucial to note that if the transformer core in the bell jar tank is equipped with lower iron yoke screws, the insulation must be reinforced, and the insulation under the feet also needs to be strengthened, as replacement during maintenance can be challenging.
Special attention should be given to the fact that in bell jar tanks, the lifting rings for the total weight are usually located on the lower oil tank. Lifting rings welded to the upper oil tank are generally only suitable for lifting the upper oil tank and are typically not used for lifting the total weight unless otherwise specified.
