Construction Machinary
Tower crane is the core heavy-duty hoisting equipment at construction sites. It operates year round under harsh open air conditions with heavy dust and drastic diurnal temperature variations. Frequent start-stop operations of hoisting, slewing and luffing mechanisms bring drastic load fluctuations, which readily produce inrush currents, voltage spikes and harmonic interference. These faults may result in uncontrolled tripping of the electric control system, burnout of inverter power modules and accelerated insulation aging of hoisting motors. Special purpose transformers and reactors for tower cranes serve as key supporting components for hoisting electric control systems, performing functions including voltage conversion, strong weak current isolation, harmonic suppression and surge voltage protection.
